Clinical Auditing

20 Sep 2019 Medical, Science ,

Awal Medical Centre uses PenCS CAT4 – a clinical audit tool, to provide data-driven quality improvement in the practice. This uses de-identified data for AMC to identify places where our practice can improve to give better health care to our patients.

Deidentified data is health information that is stripped of all ‘direct identifiers’ – so it is no longer possible to place the individual the data comes from.

There is a good link from PracticeFusion which explains how and why this is important and useful.

If you feel you do not want your deidentified data in our audits, please talk to our practice manager and they will put you on a list of patients to exclude.

Translated Health Information!

Looking for some health information in your or your friend/ family’s native language? We have some links that may help.

NSW’s health department have also compiled a depository of reliable health information, which can be searched by language. It’s also a good resource for finding health information in general.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration have a search engine that contains information on the safe and effective use of prescription or specified over-the-counter medication.

This is called a Consumer Medicines Information sheet (CMI). This information is written by the pharmaceutical company (sponsor) responsible for the medicine.

A CMI includes:

  • Interactions the medicine might have with food or other medicines
  • How to use the medicine properly

  • What to do in the case of an overdose
